Tools of the Trade a bronze fur trapper sculpture by noted sculptor-artist Ed Swena
The fur trapper and his canoe pushed the frontier of Canada and the adjoining United States, forging westward until he reached the Rocky Mountains. Many became the guides that brought the population to the Pacific Ocean.
He is portrayed in his Birch bark canoe, along with the tools of his survival. Snow shoes, ropes, traps, bag of personal belongings, a muzzle loading rifle, powder horn, shot pouch and a sleeping roll. In his canoe he carries his success in numerous bundles of pelts.
