This is an outstanding R. Rousu bronze of a Bison Lazing in the grass or on the ground, likely close to or in Yellowstone National Park. There is no official name for this piece, but it is a typical rendering of the author’s concept of bison that live, graze, and wander in their Rocky Mountain homeland. The piece is mounted on an oak base, and there is a green felt furniture protector underneath. The author’s name is etched into the bronze as well as the WB commonly seen on R. Rousu’s sculptures. It would look great in a home where America’s wildlife is loved.
