This is a 1985 R. Rousu bronze wildlife sculpture of two Big Horn sheep, mounted on an oak base with green felt furniture protector underneath. The typical WB symbol embedded in the “Steamboat-like” bucking horse to give the artwork further identifying features, is shown in the last photograph posted. Big Horn sheep are present most winter and spring months in the Wapiti Valley of Wyoming near or in the Shoshone National Forest located along the highway leading to the east gate of Yellowstone National Park. The sheep depicted in this sculpture are mature ram whose deceiving peaceful resting positions defy the use of those massive horns when used in combat against one another when competing for a female ewe. The piece is signed by the artist.
