Robert A. Larum, (1930-2023).Born in Norway. Larum came to the U.S. in 1948, becoming a ski & mountain climbing instructor for the army involved in Mountain & Cold Weather Command in Colorado springs & Camp Hale, Co. Following the military & while working as a stone mason, an injury allowed him to follow his dream of becoming a sculptor. He quickly established a reputation for his bronze equine sculptures which have been collected worldwide. His pieces are in private, public & corporate collections throughout the world. “The Norseman” sculpture depicts a fierce Viking warrior in chain mail & winged helmet. He carries his battle axe & shield, ready for battle. He is handsomely mounted on a walnut base backed by green marble. This sculpture is very difficult to locate in that there are so few of this piece. Signed by the artist, dated 1991 & numbered 4/10. Bronze figure measures 14″ x 7″ x 22″ Norseman on base measures 14″ x 9″ x 26″ H.Like new.
