Unknown (Nygen TTB) • Copper Lion

A rare historic sculptural object Copper Lion came from My Loc we’re everything was destroyed during the Vietnam war in 1968. Artist Unknown TTB Nygen. It was told to me by the Pittsburgh and Thailand museums that it is a solid rare piece that probably came from Quang Tri where there were many artists and sculptors living in that area. According to two Vietnamese people they said it is what is called a Copper Lion and it has to be from 15 or 16 century.

Jan 20, 1968 the battle of My Loc -the piece was found in the rubble of a destroyed French church next to village Dido which was also destroyed.

Rare antique bronze Vietnamese bronze sculpture titled Copper Lion

According to the owner of this rare piece, it came from My Loc where everything was destroyed during the Vietnam war in 1968. It was told to me by the Pittsburgh and Thailand museums that it is a solid rare piece that probably came from Quang Tri were there were many artists and sculptors living in that area. I talked to two Vietnamese people and they said it is what is called a Copper Lion and it has to be 15 or 16 century. The piece is in excellent shape and not anything bumps or marks.
