Michele Chapin • La Sirena – There are many versions of this story from many cultures. A young girl while swimming in the river, felt the lower half of her body turn into a fish. Upon turning into a mermaid, she swam out to sea where many sailors caught a glimpse of her and wanted her. However, she could only be caught by a net of human hair. This sculpture follows the flowing movement of fish and water in this beautiful tale.
