Bernini carved Costanza in the 16th century. She was his mistress and the wife of one of his assistant. Dana McCullough, this is her artist rendition of Costanza… capturing her wide eyed innocence and full lips and messy hair, the artist creates an emotional portrait of a time in history where are Nobel women were somewhat powerful but also vulnerable to noblemen. The patina is a marble white wash with shadows in greys and burnt umber.
