Born April, 1952 – Star Liana York’s art tells the story of her personal journey and discoveries. Though her career as a professional sculptor spans over two decades, much of her acclaim stems from the work she created after relocating to the Southwest in 1985. This body of work reflects her deep connection with the native peoples of the region—such as the Navajo, Apache, Hopi, and Pueblo—as well as the area’s wildlife and ancient rock art. In the tradition of American Western art, her sculptures capture the authenticity of the past, interpreting historical figures with striking realism.
