Bruce Killen (1937-2012)
Bruce Killen was a noted Artist, outdoorsman, and conservationist. Bruce Killen, passed away in 2012 at the age of 74. Bruce was a renowned sculptor and endeavored to give honor to the wildlife that inspired him. Living life to the fullest, any day could find Bruce riding one of his motorcycles down the back roads of Southern Oregon, fishing along the Rogue, or enjoying the wildlife with his grandsons. Bruce grew up in Minnesota, joined the Navy serving as a medic and eventually moved to Medford, Oregon with his wife Elaine where they raised their three children. Bruce was a life member of several conservation and hunting groups, including RMEF, often donating his art for their fundraising auctions. He was an advocate for protecting the Foothill Roosevelt elk herd, which lived around his Dry Creek Road home. Bruce’s spectacular wildlife sculptures can be found in homes and museums across the world.
