About Angelo Restivo

Angelo Restivo is one of those rare individuals who has been able to live a life entirely devoted to his art. Born to Italian immigrant parents in Jamestown, N.Y., he is a first-generation American who came to Chicago with his family as a young boy. Bored in school, he excelled in only one subject: art. He discovered as a child the only thing he was good at was drawing. His classmates often asked how he was able to draw everything and he kept saying he didn’t know. Angelo came to believe that artists are born, not made.
